Sonic Rush is developed by Sonic Team, Dimps. The game is published by Sega. The designer director is Akinori Nishiyama. The art director is Yuji Uekawa. The composer is Hideki Naganuma. Sonic Rush is one of the game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Sonic Rush is built for the Nintendo DS platform. In North America, it is released on the 15th November 2005. In PAL region, it is released 18th November 2005. In Japan, it is released on 23rd November 2005. Sonic Rush can be played as a single player or multiplayer game.
The storyline of Sonic Rush begins with Sonic asking Dr. Eggman about his plan. Eggman answered by saying he is not going to reveal it to him. After that, Eggman and Sonic engages in a battle. Eggman lost the battle to Sonic and hide in a place. As Eggman left hastily, a mystical Emerald was left behind. The mystical emerald is different than the Chaos Emerald. Sonic picks it up and it whisk from under his nose. A strange lady appears and comments on it. Sonic ponders over it and then begins on another adventure.
The characters in Sonic Rush are Sonic the Hedgehog, Blaze the cat, Dr. Eggman, Eggman Nega, Miles “Tails” Prower, Cream the rabbit, Amy Rose, and Knuckles the Echidna. The two playable characters are Sonic and Blaze. The basic movements are reduced.
There are two new tricks which are the Tension Gauge and Super/Fire Boost. To move to right or left, hold and press the right or left button. To crouch down, press the down button To look up while standing still, press the up button. To make Sonic Spin, press the A or B button. To make Sonic jump dash and performs the homing attack, press the A button and then the R button. Gimmicks are located throughout the acts. Certain gimmicks must be operated in a way while others have pop up hints. The Special Gimmicks is a round device with a star and 2 handles. The Special Gimmicks provides an entrance into the Special Stages.
There are special tricks which can be performed in the game by using the A, B, and R button. The tricks can help you to get more points. The tension gauge is located on the left side of the top and lower screen. Tensions are obtained by performing tricks, hitting a Checkpoint or Tension Item Boxes, and conquering a foe. The tension will be gone when you perform the Super/Fire Boost, be hit by an enemy, or are dying. The character tends to travel in a faster speed while in Boost Mode. In Boost mode, you will feel a sudden shield like affect. The afterimages will appear behind the character you are playing. The Super (Sonic) or Fire(Blaze) Boost Increase your speed and help you to vanquish the enemies when you have tension. if the Boost is not activated in five seconds, the gauge or the character will blink. The tension gauge and character will no longer glow and you will remain at 300 percent. However, if you perform another trick, the character will glow again. You can keep the character glowing by obtaining more tension.
